This afternoon rescuers found a sunken vehicle stuck between the rocks before the final mouth of the Cuale River, and it is where Luz Bernice, the second possible victim of Hurricane Nora, was supposed to be.
But at the end of the rescuing efforts, the vehicle was empty with no signals of Luz final destiny, so the searching will be continued by sea.
As social media videos showed, Luz Bernice was in a black truck, and when trying to cross the bridge, she was dragged into the river, and nothing has been heard from her since.
The hopes of finding her alive are practically nil; the firefighters were rescuing her vehicle and verifying if her body is inside or not, finally there was just the vehicle seriously damaged with scratches and brooken pieces.
She is legally still disappeared. While another young boy is confirmed died when the hotel where he was staying collapsed after its foundations were undermined by the force of the water, they are the two missing people of the Cuale River.
The tragic accident occurred after 11 pm in the Buenos Aires neighborhood when Luz Berenice was in her truck and tried to cross a flooded area. She was swept away by the strong current that carried her into the flow of the Cuale River.
After two days of intensive searching, the rescue teams have located the vehicle trapped in the sand of the Cuale River bed but cannot find the missing girl’s body so far.
Near the Cuale Island, the rescue groups were working intensely to recover the vehicle and verify if someone was trapped inside.
Originally from Monterrey, Luz Berenice fell in love with Puerto Vallarta, and 5 years ago, she decided to settle in this city where she worked in a bar and lived with her partner.
Her parents came to Vallarta from North Carolina to join the rescue efforts hoping that a miracle would bring their daughter back alive; unfortunately, that hope is about to die.
